Region and State Track....

Here's the group of kids who made it to finals at Region. I had two runners place 9th in prelims so they just missed making finals. We were so close to having all our hurdlers run in finals! Which would have been half of all the lanes filled with Stansbury Stallions! Everyone still raced so well. All the girls ran PRs and most of our boys did too! So proud of them. I miss them like crazy.

Gabby on the left, placed 1st in the 100m hurdle at region and broke the girls school record. She also placed 2nd in the 300m. She will be running on a track and cross country scholarship at Dixie State. Angie (right center) is headed on a basketball scholarship to a junior college in Colorado and ran her best race ever. Alexia on the right tied for 4th in 100m hurdle. The coin toss to decide which girl would be headed to state (top 4 in every region goes to state) did not go in our favor but she is just a sophomore. Next year is hers!

 

These boys have worked so hard this season. They placed 1st, 2nd, 4th in the 110m hurdles and 1st and 3rd in the 300m hurdles at region and two of them made it to finals at State! Injuries plagued Doug (center) early in the season but he was diligent in doing everything physically possible to stay in competitive shape until his muscle healed. It paid off! He was .15 away from breaking the school record and slaughtered his Spanish teacher in race, ending in a new look for Senor Bleazard... a reverse Mohawk.

I felt really sick at State so this was the only picture I captured. J and B play hard all day. Our team ran hard all day. We had some great races and did really well as a team. Like always it made me miss my days of racing under that much pressure.

 The boys have been extra helpful with all the cleaning for house showings. Its been a great opportunity to teach them everyone is needed to take care of our house. They both have become pretty good at sweeping.

 

A new favorite job for us all is having J and B water the brown spots scattered across the lawn! It is a great way to keep them occupied for quite a while in a helpful, less destructive way! I remember that being on of my first jobs was to water a dry/almost dead patch of lawn at the old house, right next to the driveway. I believe it ended up getting replaced with brick...clearly I wasn't very dedicated to my assignment...
